The competition comes back after this season for the semi-finals, which will see Spain, go up against France in Lille.

Gasquet is savoring the opportunity to confront a portion of the finest Spanish players on the planet.

Yet, the thirty-one-year-old concedes he won't be discouraged should Nadal not show up, which isn't the manner by which he, felt about Roger Federer in the 2014 final Davis Cup.

‘Indeed, however, I won't cry on the off chance that he isn't there. Like Federer at the time,’ he told L Equipe.
